About Dr. Leigh Siergiewicz

I became a naturopathic physician to give patients what they truly need and don’t get from conventional care.  Having experienced the frustration with short appointments and lack of real solutions offered by traditional healthcare myself, I wanted a different approach.  Appointments with me aren’t rushed, symptoms are taken seriously, and a lot of digging and testing is done to find real solutions for things that other healthcare practitioners often brush off.

The first time I visited a naturopathic doctor as a patient many years ago, I was amazed that my doctor took so much time, asked lots of detailed questions, and gave me a list of things that would be our next steps in finding a solution to my symptoms.  I was sold!  I wanted to provide the same kind of comfort and assurance for people.  A few years later I started attending school at Bastyr University where I earned my Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine after completing a Bachelor of Arts at Saint Anselm College.

I live on Vashon Island, WA with my husband, Steve and two young daughters Vivienne and Aurelia.

I chose the name Betula, the Latin genus for birch, which has always been my favorite tree.  It is brighter in the moonlight against the other dark trees and has traditionally been known as “the way shower” in the forest.

Who I work with

I work with women and families as a specialized consultant in integrative medicine. I do not currently function as a primary care provider.  You can schedule a complimentary discovery call online to see if we would be a good fit to work together.

I see patients in person within Vashon Chiropractic on Vashon Island, WA.

I also work with clients throughout the country via secure video chat.  At this time, Dr. Leigh is only able to consult with clients who reside in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

How I help

As a licensed naturopathic doctor, I have the most comprehensive integrative medicine training available in herbal medicine, nutrition, counseling, homeopathy with a holistic view on health and healing.  Conventional standards such as medication and surgery are completely acceptable to NDs when used appropriately.  Naturopathic treatment is not an all or nothing approach.

Conditions treated

I most commonly treat the following conditions: thyroid disorders including Hashimoto’s and Grave’s disease, infertility, digestive issues of all kinds, allergies, illness due to mold exposure, menstrual disorders of all kinds including endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), anxiety, depression.

In addition, I have a lot of experience working with the following conditions: high blood pressure, osteoporosis, weight management, migraines, multiple sclerosis, and more. I have also treated some very unusual conditions such as auto brewery syndrome and cyclic vomiting syndrome.

I do not take on new patients that have an active cancer diagnosis. You can find a naturopathic physician who specializes in integrative cancer treatment here.

In general, injuries, more complicated heart diseases, and male specific health concerns such as prostate issues are not my clinical interest. You would be best to find someone else who is suited to your needs.
